GENERAL LABOURER – TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful applicants will assist with:
- Farm maintenance (clean-up, grounds upkeep, repair, and development tasks)
- Supporting trades (repairs of farm structures, equipment, and supplies management)
- Cleaning and organizing farm equipment and work areas
- Feeding animals, setting up break fences, and handling livestock appropriately
- Weed control programs, pasture walks, and crop/pasture renovation tasks
- Learning to milk in the dairy shed and assisting with stock handling
- Operating farm machinery such as tractors, irrigation systems, and hand tools
- Quality control of feed, hygiene checks, and supporting dispatch tasks
- Maintaining documentation and animal health/treatment records
- Ensuring compliance with environmental and farm regulations
- Communicating effectively with managers and team members
- Following health and safety standards at all times
OVERVIEW OF EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALS
Applicants must:
- Be physically fit and able to handle outdoor labour tasks
- Hold a valid driver licence
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and have no criminal record
- Be eligible to work in New Zealand (valid visa or NZ citizenship/residency)
No prior farm experience is required – full training is provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Supporting daily farm operations across maintenance, animal care, and equipment use
- Following farm standards for cleanliness, safety, and quality
- Carrying out landscaping and pasture care (mowing, planting, pruning)
- Handling livestock when required (moving, milking, feeding)
- Assisting with materials handling, loading/unloading, and general labour tasks
- Reporting any risks, safety issues, or animal health concerns to the farm manager
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
