SPRAY PAINTER – TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Completing paint jobs according to SMART’s high-quality repair and refinishing standards
- Preparing, sanding, masking, priming, and refinishing vehicle surfaces
- Signing off final colour accuracy, including minor colour adjustments
- Maintaining spray booths, tools, and paint-mixing equipment daily
- Ensuring all repair and refinish work meets safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Working collaboratively with panel technicians and other team members
- Following all safety and environmental protocols within the workshop

OVERVIEW OF EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALS
Applicants must:
- Be a Trade Qualified Spray Painter
- Have experience in collision repairs or a similar automotive industry
- Hold a valid driver licence
- Have full working rights in New Zealand
- Be committed to working safely and maintaining professional standards
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in workmanship

- Proven experience in automotive refinishing and colour matching
- Excellent hand–eye coordination and technical skill
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
