Carpenter – Tasks and Responsibilities
The following responsibilities will be carried out as part of this on-site position:
- Materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and others will be measured, cut, shaped, assembled, and joined
- Foundations will be built, floor beams installed, subflooring laid, and roof and wall systems erected
- Windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware will be fitted and installed
- Work will be performed at heights, including scaffolding or swing stages when required
A strong commitment to workplace safety and construction quality standards will be expected at all times.
Overview of Education, Experience, and Credentials
The ideal candidate will be equipped with the right combination of technical expertise and experience:
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- A secondary (high school) graduation certificate is required
- 3 to less than 5 years of relevant carpentry experience must be demonstrated
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada is mandatory
Skills and Attributes:
- An understanding of blueprint reading and measurement accuracy will be expected
- A reliable, honest, and detail-oriented approach is essential
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different job sites will be valued
- A collaborative spirit and professional attitude will be required
- Comfort with working at heights is necessary
