TRUCK DRIVER – TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Load and unload cargo with attention to safety
- Record information on cargo, hours of service, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Oversee and inspect vehicle condition, including tires, brakes, lights, and cold storage
- Make emergency roadside repairs when needed
- Drive in teams or convoys if required
- Calculate and record costs of repairs and maintenance
- Arrange travel routes and make necessary reservations
- Pay and receive payments for transported goods
- Obtain special permits and documentation for international cargo
OVERVIEW OF EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALS
Living Delight, are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious professional with the following qualifications:
Preferred Education and Credentials:
- Secondary (high school) graduation certificate required
- Class 1/1F/A Licence (for semi-trailer trucks)
- Air Brakes Endorsement preferred
- Legal authorization to work in Canada is mandatory
Experience:
- Experience is an asset (training can be provided for suitable candidates)
Transportation Experience:
- Regional, National, Provincial/Territorial, Long-haul, Short-haul

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong attention to detail and road safety awareness
- Ability to handle heavy loads and perform under pressure
- Physical endurance for long-distance driving
- Good record-keeping and communication skills
