Overview of Education, Specialization, and Credentials Required for the Job
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Languages: English (required)
- Education: No degree or diploma required
- Experience: 6 months of relevant truck driving experience preferred
- Special Skills: Ability to drive a manual truck, good communication skills, strong attention to safety, and customer service
- Additional Requirements: Must have a NZ Class 5 Driver License (or equivalent overseas license), be medically fit for the role, and possess a strong work ethic
Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Class 5 Truck Driver at HR Powar Transport Ltd, your primary duties will include:
- Driving a manual Class 5 truck and occasionally lower class trucks for deliveries
- Ensuring the safety of the vehicle and cargo, including conducting regular checks and maintaining COF and RUC
- Completing delivery paperwork and maintaining accurate logs, including log books and proof of delivery
- Ensuring deliveries are made within the scheduled timeframes and in good condition
- Working outside of Auckland for deliveries, following all health and safety procedures
- Estimating load weights to comply with limitations and ensuring safe load distribution
- Following all company health and safety guidelines at all times
- Assisting with the conversion of overseas licenses to New Zealand Class 5 licenses, if applicable
