Overview of Education, Specialization, and Credentials Required for the Job
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Languages: English (required)
- Education: National Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering
- Experience: Proven experience in mechanical services, including servicing and repairs of vehicles and plant equipment
- Certifications: Full Class 1 Drivers Licence (Class 2 and WTR endorsements are advantageous)
Additional Requirements:
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- A proactive approach to Health and Safety
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and upskill
- Pre-employment Requirements:
- All successful candidates must undergo and pass a pre-employment medical and drug screening prior to employment.
Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic at Fulton Hogan, your primary duties will include:
- Servicing and repairing heavy vehicles and plant equipment
- Completing inspections of vehicles and trailers
- Reporting all failure/breakdowns and diagnosing causes
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
