Overview of Education, Specialization, and Credentials Required for the Job

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Languages: English (required)
  • Education: National Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering
  • Experience: Proven experience in mechanical services, including servicing and repairs of vehicles and plant equipment
  • Certifications: Full Class 1 Drivers Licence (Class 2 and WTR endorsements are advantageous)

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A proactive approach to Health and Safety
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and upskill
  • Pre-employment Requirements:
  • All successful candidates must undergo and pass a pre-employment medical and drug screening prior to employment.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic at Fulton Hogan, your primary duties will include:

  • Servicing and repairing heavy vehicles and plant equipment
  • Completing inspections of vehicles and trailers
  • Reporting all failure/breakdowns and diagnosing causes
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
